Kappa Ularthiyathu – It’s a Kerala style preparation of Tapioca without adding coconut. It can be served with or without side dish. Even it can be served as a side dish for Rice.

- 1. Tapioca - 500 gms - Cut into small pieces (Kappa)
- 2. Turmeric powder - 1/8 Teaspoon (Manjalpodi)

- 3. Mustard seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon (Kaduk)
- 4. Shallots - 6 Nos - Crushed (Chuvannulli)
- 5. Dried red chilly - 1 1/2 Teaspoon - Crushed (Unakkamulak)
- 6. Garlic - 3 Nos, Medium size - Crushed (Veluthulli)
- 7. Curry leaves - 1 Stem (Curry vepila)

- 8. Salt - As required
- 9. Coconut oil - 1 Tablespoon
Instructions
- Cook tapioca with turmeric powder, salt and excess water. Strain the excess water after cooking.
- Heat coconut oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds and fry ingredients 4 – 7 till row smell goes off.
- Add cooked tapioca, mix well and switch off the flame.
