Beef dry fry is a popular restaurant/ street food in Kerala. Kerala Porotta and beef fry combination is a comfort evening food for most of the non-vegetarian Malayalees 😊.
Kerala style beef fry is prepared by beef cooked first with masalas and then dry fry in coconut oil. Adding fresh coconut bits give extra crunch to the beef fry. Crushed garlic, green chillies and curry leaves added while dry roasting the beef give extra flavour to the beef fry.
In my childhood porottayum irachiyum (Kerala porotta and beef) was my first food preference and still it’s on my top list of favourite foods. In those days porotta and beef were wrapped in banana leaves which imparts a different flavour to porotta and beef fry. In some restaurants beef gravy poured over the porottas and then wrapped in banana leaves. Hot beef gravy poured on banana leaf let the banana leaf to wilt and give the flavour – It’s super yummm!!! 😛

Nadan Beef Curry – It’s an all time Malayalees’ favorite side dish. We can make Nadan beef curry in different ways. This recipe was given by one of my friends who runs a restaurant in Kottayam (A place in Kerala). The specialty of this dish is, we don’t use ginger and garlic in this recipe and we are adding ‘milk’. 😛 I was also wondered while reading this recipe. But trust me even though it was a weired recipe for me, I tried it and the final beef curry taste was awesome.
The best part it we can save time in preparing ginger and garlic. And I realized that Beef curry tastes very good even without ginger and garlic – We get a nice cooked beef flavor in this recipe instead of excess masala taste.

Kerala Style Beef Dum Biriyani is flavourful and delicious. Unlike Chicken Biriyani this Beef Biriyani is made with fried onions instead of sauteed onions.
One day my mom’s sister sent me the picture of Beef Biriyani made by her on WhatsApp. After seeing that itself I understood it’s yummy. Next day I called up her, collected the recipe, tried my own and served to my friends :). Of course I got appreciation from them as usual ?
Kerala Style Beef Curry | Naadan Beef Curry Recipe is a popular non veg dish in Kerala. Naadan means local, i.e local Kerala Beef Curry. The main ingredient for Naadan Beef curry is “Coconut bites” but still it is optional as some people don not like to bite coconut in between. For me, I like to bite coconut bits more than the beef pieces ?
Kerala Style Beef Stew is less spicy yet yummy side dish goes very well with Appam/ Bread. Beef stew is a common side dish for Christmas/ Easter breakfasts.
In South Kerala side Beef stew is prepared in a different way by adding garam masala powder/ coriander powder. So color of the curry will be slightly brown. Also only potatoes are added as the veg and no carrot/ green peas etc are added.
In this Beef stew recipe I’m adding potatoes and carrots only no green peas added.
I got tips for this recipe from my friend Saritha’s mom who is enthusiastic to explain her recipes. Thanks Aunty ?
